Where it all began @grilldburgers I always loved being charitable but hated being hounded in the shopping centre or guilted into donating. That doesn’t feel good. I was super inspired when @grilldburgers launched - you got your lil token, you got to choose which cause to support, the causes were local, it just felt GOOD. So I took this business model and put my own spin on it! Fast forward 10 years, 100,000 candles and a whole lot of donations (more on that to come, stay tuned) later and I’m so proud to be taking my daughter back there and making being kind cool for her too.

Gather ‘round kids… The year was 2014. Jon Snow was the original short king, Solange was getting her black belt in an elevator and Gwyneth and Chris consciously uncoupled. A young(ish) woman in West Perth had recently been diagnosed with clinical depression, had just been made redundant and with nothing left to lose, she decided to start a small business where she sold a product that a portion of the sale went to the customers choice of not for profit cause so she could live out her childhood dream of being a philanthropist. Here’s how she came up with the business name… PROSPECT (noun) The act of looking forward (place) The street in West Perth she lived on PROJECT (noun) Idea; a specific plan or design (See also) Something that has a completion/end, to act as a safety net so that when it failed, (which she fully intended it would) she had an excuse to quit. 2024 will mark 10 years since I started this project… Biz owners - I’d LOVE to hear the story behind your biz name! ✂️ CHOP CHOP ✂️ This is what letting your hair grow wild for 2 years before letting your 5 year old cut it all off looks like. My hair grows fast. Like, REALLY fast #hairygirlproblems I’ve always been the type to grow it long then chop it all off, but this time I thought it might be nice to donate it to @kidswithcancerfoundation who will then turn it into a wig for a a young person battling cancer. It was really important for me that Ella was involved in the process and I wanted her to understand why I was doing it (as much as a 5 year old can), but obviously needed professional help (in so many ways, but more specially a hairdresser) so the good people of @salonjaimmelee hooked your girl up with the freshest of snips 🫶🏽 My fave cousin @joanne.ves was flying over to Perth last November and was going to chop it for me, but the accident happened and I just wasn’t mentally in a position to have it done. I’ve also kind of hidden behind my hair the last few years, but my intention for 2024 is to prioritise myself more and to try to find more of a balance in my life instead of work 24/7 and squeeze in everything else with whatever is left. One of the positives I’m taking from the accident is just to chill the fuck out and enjoy my life a bit more.
