🎶 I’m working late...cos I make candles 🎶 You know those people who are all “I’m just like, a really positive person”? Not me. When you’ve spend the last (nearly) 40 years telling yourself that you are nothing, you don’t matter, and whatever you do you will fail at, it’s pretty much guaranteeing yourself an all-inclusive one way first class ticket on the Saddies Express. Most of my childhood, teenage years and into 20’s were spent feeling like there was this incredibly heavy darkness in me, that I masked behind blending in, people pleasing and pretending to be “normal” (*starts twitching in the corner*). Imposter Syndrome just entered that chat also. The real turkey slap came when I turned 30, was simply existing on the hamster wheel of my life, realised no one was going to come along and save me or fix my life for me and I felt like I had wasted a lot of my life purely from a fear of failure. Starting this biz 10 years ago, and of course having a daughter gave me a sense of purpose and a reason to be a better human so that when minor inconveniences happen, oh you know, like a car flying through your studio window nearly killing you and destroying everything you spent 10 years building in the blink of an eye, you put your big girl pants on and handle it, because this is so much bigger than just making candles or perfume. The last 12 months in particular has really fulfilled me when it’s come to the philanthropic side of TPP. I have felt like I’ve genuinely been able to help real life people in tangible ways and I can’t even begin to describe to you how much this lights me up inside (pun NOT intended, but acknowledged) and I’m forever grateful to all of you who believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. In the words of my favourite poet @wildspark.co “Mama didn’t raise no bitch”.

Mental Health matters here at TPP, so when we were lucky enough to work with @brookfieldproperties on an event supporting @bluetreeproject we knew we had to feature them as one of our 3 causes for you guys to donate to: 🩵“Blue Tree Project is a charity that was founded in 2019 with a mission to help spark important conversations and encourage people to speak up when experiencing mental health concerns.  💙Blue trees, now scattered across every continent, serve as powerful symbols of hope and vivid conversation starters. It’s not just about the blue trees - it’s about the meaningful conversations they ignite, whether that’s on a road trip with family, or at a golf course with friends. A simple “why is that tree blue?” sparks the beginnings of important conversations.    🩵The blue trees encourage people to “talk about the tough stuff” we sometimes feel like we need to keep to ourselves. By openly talking about mental health, we reduce stigma and shift outdated attitudes. Creating safer spaces where people can seek help, free from judgement.  💙What started in tragedy has transformed into a powerful movement of connection, support, and hope.
